The author couldn’t have asked for a better outcome, though this particular turn of events occurred after Green received a crushing blow. Once the publishers realized that so many agents had started vying for Green’s manuscript, they took an immediate interest in the author, sparking a bidding war. Green solved the problem by calling some publishers and querying them about the agents that had reached out to her. Once she submitted the manuscript, she received so many positive responses from agents that she had a difficult time making a suitable selection. She believes that she published her first novel at the perfect time. The process allows Green to sort through her feelings, especially when significant events occur in her life. Green is convinced that the stories in her head would drive her crazy if she did not write them down. The activity allows the author to make sense of the jumbled mess in her brain. Rather than speaking those thoughts out loud, she prefers to write them down. ![]() The author blames her decision to write novels on her introverted personality. Besides working with the ABC News team and running her own BBC radio show, Green has used the skills she gained from the French Culinary Institute (New York) to write cookbooks. Green spent her early 20s with Granada TV before turning her attention to notable publications like The Daily Express and Cosmopolitan magazine. ![]()
